One more step towards the conclusion of the new community park. Now that the weather is good, the next step will be the Large Sheltered Picnic Area. In April 2020 the City of Lakeport was awarded a $5.9 million grant funded by the 2018 State of California Parks and Water Bond (Prop 68) for the development of a new community park along the lakefront at 800 and 810 North Main Street (Natural High Property). In addition to funding for the acquisition of the approximately 7 acre proposed park lands, the awarded grant provides funding for the following amenities chosen through an extensive public outreach process: • Promenade Lake Front Path • Basketball Court • Ninja Gym • Amphitheater • Splash Pad • Skate Park • Multi-Use Lawn Area • Large Sheltered Picnic Area • Bathroom / Concession Building • Public Art • Parking Lot • Landscaping and Lighting throughout Park • Dedicated Area for Future Boathouse See the Lakeport City’s website for more info about the new park project: https://www.cityoflakeport.com/lakefr…
